Elections results will be announced directly by the Department of Government Information both via a designated YouTube channel and its Facebook page, as well as on its official website www.elections.news.lk

The official results will also be relayed to media outlets by the Information Department for them to broadcast or upload on their official websites.

Election Commission (EC) Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya said that only the official results released by the EC will be valid, and requested media outlets to desist from releasing unofficial results.
