Inflation in March soars to 21.5%; food inflation near 30%

Inflation in March has increased to a record 21.5% from a year earlier as per the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI), compiled by the Department of Census and Statistics.

In February the year on year increase was 17.5%. Food inflation amounted to 29.5% up from 24.7% in February whilst non-food inflation was 14.5% in comparison to 11% in February.
