Imported potatoes, Big onion to be cheaper

The price of imported potatoes and big onions are expected to reduce following the reduction in the special commodity levy by Rs. 30 per kg with immediate effect.

The Finance Ministry said that the move follows the advice from President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and approval by Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa as a means to give relief to the people.

The relevant Gazette incorporating the reduction has been published as well, the Finance Ministry added.
