The Cabinet of Ministers at their meeting on Monday, agreed on awarding the contract to purchase five shipments of petrol 92, starting January next year, to Singapore’s Epdesa Ltd., following competitive bids.
The Government said the move follows bids called from registered suppliers of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC).
It said bids called from the registered suppliers of CPC for the long-term contract to import 300,000 ± 5% barrels of Petrol 92 Unl for a period of six months from 15 March 2026 to 14 September 2026. For that purpose, bids have been submitted by six suppliers.
Accordingly, the proposal tabled by the Energy Minister to award the relevant contract for the Epdesa Ltd., as recommended by the Special Standard Procurement Committee was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
