Gold prices in the local market rose to record levels yesterday, reflecting sharp increases in global markets, local traders said.
For the first time, a pound of 22-carat gold was priced at Rs. 379,200, while 24-carat gold reached Rs. 410,000.
Traders attributed the surge to the upward movement in international gold prices, which have driven local rates to historic highs.
