Cabinet Spokesman Bandula Gunawardena yesterday mentioned that former President and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa was a participant at the weekly Cabinet meeting held on Monday.

Greeting journalists in trilingual at yesterday’s post-Cabinet meeting media briefing, Gunawardena said the former President also took part, though he no longer holds a Ministerial portfolio.

“Good morning to all of you. The Cabinet meeting was chaired under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa,” he said in his introductory remarks before announcing the Cabinet decisions taken on Monday.
