Foreign holdings in Rupee treasuries tops Rs. 100 b mark

Total foreign holdings in Rupee treasuries last week crossed the Rs. 100 billion mark for the first time since February 2024.

WealthTrust Securities said last week saw a notable weekly net inflow for the second consecutive week as at the week ending 6 August. 

“It was incidentally the largest in 20 weeks, amounting to a sizeable Rs. 8.76 billion. As a result, the total holding increased to Rs. 108.20 billion. This marks the highest value in over 18 months and the first instance that foreign holdings have surpassed the Rs. 100 billion threshold since February 2024,” it added.
