Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena will make a special statement to Parliament today, giving the Government’s reaction to the resolution on Sri Lanka, which was adopted by the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on Tuesday.

The Minister said this in response to a query made by Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella yesterday.

“The previous Government entangled the country in a web by co-sponsoring a UNHRC resolution and the present Government has been able to untangle it,” he said, adding that he would make a detailed statement today.
