Ex-Unilever Sri Lanka’s Rumal Fernando joins Hayleys Board

Susangatha Rumal Fernando

Hayleys PLC yesterday announced the Board appointment of Susangatha Rumal Fernando as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

Fernando is a supply chain specialist with over 25 years of experience at Unilever Sri Lanka, where she joined as the first female Field Sales Manager and held several leadership roles within the company.

Fernando holds a B.SC. (Hon) degree from the University of New Delhi and an MBA in International Trade and Logistics from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. She is an Affiliated Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (UK) and Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK).

She is the Chairperson of Women in Logistics and Transport Sri Lanka (WiLAT), where she leads initiatives that empower women from leadership development, entrepreneurship, and mentoring young professionals and university students in supply chain management.

She is also a Member of the Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce (WCIC).
