Ex-Pack Corrugated Cartons PLC is planning to establish a corrugated carton manufacturing operation in Zambia as part of its long-term growth and expansion strategy, the first overseas expansion for the company.
The company said its Board of Directors approved the proposed investment on 13 August following an assessment of investment opportunities in new markets.
Ex-Pack said it has obtained preliminary approval from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) for the proposed investment.
Implementation will be subject to obtaining further necessary approvals from the relevant regulatory, statutory, and Government authorities. The company said the project investment value was still under assessment and would be announced in due course.
The company specialises in corrugated cartons, storage solutions covering the garment industry and paper-based environmental and eco-friendly warehousing accessories. Last year, it undertook a major technology transformation, replacing legacy machinery with state-of-the-art equipment, enhancing production capabilities, efficiency, and ability to meet evolving customer requirements.
