Easter Sunday attacks case verdict on 22 Sept.

The Colombo Permanent Trial-at-Bar will deliver its verdict on 22 September in the case against 25 accused over the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks.

The three-member High Court Bench yesterday (24) fixed the date for the verdict.



The Attorney General has filed 23,270 charges against the accused, including conspiracy, aiding and abetting the attacks, collecting arms and ammunition, and attempted murder under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).

Naufer Moulavi is among the accused in the case.

The coordinated suicide bombings on churches and hotels on 21 April 2019 killed more than 270 people and injured hundreds.
