LAUGFS Gas PLC and Litro Gas have announced increases in domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder prices, citing rising global energy costs and supply chain pressures due to escalating tensions in the Middle East.

With effect from last night, LAUGFS Gas revised the price of a 12.5 kg domestic LPG cylinder in Colombo by Rs. 300, bringing it to Rs. 4,630. The 5 kg cylinder has been increased by Rs. 120 to Rs. 1,862.

The company attributed the revision to tight market availability and elevated international LPG prices, while assuring households of continued safe and reliable supply through its nationwide distribution network. Customers can inquire about district-wise prices via the LAUGFS Gas hotline on 1345.

State-run Litro Gas implemented a similar adjustment from midnight on 10 March. The 12.5 kg cylinder price rose by Rs. 300 to Rs. 3,990, the 5 kg cylinder by Rs. 120 to Rs. 1,602, and the 2.3 kg cylinder by Rs. 56 to Rs. 750.

The company noted that the price increases were kept to the minimum necessary to reflect the surge in international gas prices.
