Presidential hopeful and leader of the Mawbima Janatha Party (MJP) yesterday said that Sri Lanka possesses numerous alternative solutions to overcome the ongoing economic crisis without resorting to seeking financial assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The prominent businessman and now Presidential hopeful made this statement at a workshop held by the party titled ‘Praweshaya’ aimed at youth in the country.

He stated that the party’s ideology is based on the four cornered system (Chathuskotikaya), and its knowledge framework is firmly grounded in Sri Lanka’s nationality and civilisation. “Hence, we possess solutions both akin to and distinct from the IMF. So, refrain from posing such a simplistic question about alternative options to the IMF from the political faction we advocate for,” he emphasised.

He pointed out that as a political faction firmly committed to the four-cornered system and rooted in nationality and civilisation, they advocate for numerous alternative solutions beyond the IMF to address the current crisis.
