Digital Economy Ministry and UNDP Sri Lanka sign MoU to support ‘Disrupt Asia 2025’

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Sri Lanka and the Digital Economy Ministry have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently.

The agreement recognises the UNDP in Sri Lanka as a strategic partner to the Digital Economy Ministry for ‘Disrupt Asia 2025,’ Sri Lanka’s premier startup conference and innovation festival, where visionaries, investors, and disruptors come together.

The agreement was signed by Digital Economy Ministry Acting Secretary Waruna Sri Dhanapala and UNDP Sri Lanka Resident Representative Azusa Kubota, in the presence of Deputy Digital Economy Minister Eng. Eranga Weeraratne, Chief Presidential Adviser on Digital Economy Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, UNDP Sri Lanka Deputy Resident Representative Marina Ten, Team Leader – Strategic Engagement, Digital and Innovation Team Fadhil Bakeer Markar, Lab Manager – Citra Lab Yasas Thalagala, and Digital and Service Design Officer – Citra Lab Deshani Senanayake.

Through this collaboration, the UNDP will continue to work closely with the Ministry in order to achieve the ambitious goals set forth in the Government’s national digital economy blueprint for Sri Lanka.
