A webinar on the ‘Role of Embassies and Consulates in Promoting Tourism, Exports and Investments’ organised by the International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka in partnership with Daily FT, Sri Lanka-China Business Council, Colombo Stock Exchange and European Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka will be held today from 4 p.m. onwards.

Former US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert Blake, Ambassador to the United Nations and Representative to the WTO for ICC Crispin Conroy and former Foreign Affairs Minister Rohitha Bogollagama will address the webinar. 

This will be followed by a panel discussion involving former Ministry of Foreign Affairs Secretary Bernard Goonetilleke, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the United Kingdom Saroja Sirisena, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Singapore Shashikala Premawardhane, Ambassador of  Bangladesh to the Netherlands Riaz Hamidullah, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the People’s Republic of China Dr. Palitha Kohona, Board of Investment Chairman Sanjaya Mohottala, Consul General to Sydney, Australia Lakshman Hulugalle, German Consulate Mumbai India Consulate General Dr. Jürgen Morhard, Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka Economic and Commercial Counsellor Li Guangjun, Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka First Secretary Economic and Commercial Dr. Rakesh Pandey, Colombo Stock Exchange CEO Rajeeva Bandaranaike and former Ambassador to Austria and UN Legal Expert in the Caribbean Dr. Laksiri Mendis. 

The session will be moderated by former Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Netherlands, France and Spain Buddhi K. Athauda, ICCSL Chairman Dinesh Weerakkody and Daily FT Editor-in-Chief Nisthar Cassim.
