DIMO, a leading diversified conglomerate in Sri Lanka, together with Tata Motors Ltd., launched its first batch of locally assembled DIMO Batta HT2 trucks. Marking a significant milestone in Sri Lanka’s automotive industry, DIMO is proud to introduce the first-ever small commercial vehicle assembled in Sri Lanka.

Produced at the DIMO Vehicle Assembly Plant at the Weliweriya Logistics Centre with a daily production capacity of three to four vehicles, the first batch of locally assembled DIMO Batta HT2 vehicles was handed over to a group of customers recently.

DIMO Chairman and Managing Director Ranjith Pandithage commented on the launch of the DIMO Batta HT2 trucks. “Mobility plays a crucial role in the development of any economy, and as a company that has always stood for fuelling the dreams and aspirations of the communities we serve in, we are immensely proud to reach this incredible milestone of launching the first locally assembled DIMO Batta.”

The proven product of which over 100,000 vehicles are already enhancing the day-to-day lives of many Sri Lankans, the DIMO Batta HT2 is the only commercial vehicle that has a fuel economy of 18 to 22 km per litre in its class, allowing maximum savings and higher returns for the owners. It also has a very low maintenance cost compared to the similar products of competitors and comes with a regular service interval of every 10,000 km, saving time and cost for the customer. With a large drop side load body with the dimensions of 7.2’ in length, 5’ in width and 1’ in height, the vehicle features a stylishly designed and comfortable cabin that seats two persons including the driver. Additionally, it comes with elegantly stylish head lamps and digital odometers for enhanced accuracy and most importantly, a trusted warranty of two years or 60,000 km.

As a pioneer in Sri Lanka’s automobile industry and the only authorised general distributor for Tata vehicles in Sri Lanka, DIMO is well geared with the expertise to provide a top-of-the-line product to its customers, with the support from Tata Motors.

DIMO Executive Director Vijitha Bandara, who also oversees the aftersales services and retail business of DIMO, stated, “It is because of our expertise in the automobile industry and the immense support we have received from our principal Tata Motors, that we were able to roll out the first ever locally assembled DIMO Batta HT2. We constantly work towards strengthening our aftersales operations in order to provide a state-of-the-art service for our valued customers.”
