Reaches over 90% of Rs. 2.2 t annual target
Monthly targets exceeded for eight straight months

Sri Lanka Customs has collected Rs. 2 trillion in revenue for the year through 15 September 2026, putting the revenue-collecting body on track to exceed its annual target for a second consecutive year.

Sri Lanka Customs said the Rs. 2 trillion mark was reached on Tuesday. The figure represents over 90% of Customs’ full-year revenue target of Rs. 2.2 trillion, with more than three months still remaining in the year.

The border revenue collection agency has exceeded its monthly revenue targets for eight consecutive months, according to official data.

Customs...Customs collected a record Rs. 2.6 trillion in revenue last year, exceeding a revised target of Rs. 2.2 trillion and marking a 64.2% increase over the previous year’s revenue of Rs. 1.6 trillion.

The 2026 target of Rs. 2.2 trillion was set 13.5% lower than last year’s collection, with Customs anticipating a significant decline in car imports during the year.
