Sri Lanka Customs has collected more than 65% of its July revenue target within the first 14 days of the month, putting the agency on course to exceed its monthly goal for a seventh consecutive month.

Official data showed Customs had generated Rs. 125.2 billion by 14 July against a monthly target of Rs. 192.4 billion, achieving around 65% of the target in the first fortnight.

The agency has already surpassed its monthly revenue targets for the past six consecutive months. Cumulative collections by 14 July had reached 68.2% of the full-year target, reflecting continued strong revenue performance.

The Department posted a record Rs. 2,551 billion in revenue in 2025, exceeding its revised annual target of Rs. 2,241 billion and marking a 64.2% increase from Rs. 1,553 billion collected in the previous year.

For 2026, Customs has set a lower revenue target of Rs. 2,207 billion, about 13.5% below last year’s collection, reflecting expectations of a sharp decline in motor vehicle imports following the reopening of imports.
