The Container Transport Owners’ Association (CTOA) has decided to increase container transport charges by 20% from last midnight, citing the recent fuel price hike.
CTOA Chairman Sanath Manjula said the increase in fuel prices has had a significant impact on the import and export container transport sector.
He said the decision was taken collectively by associations representing the container transportation sector and subsequently approved by the CTOA Executive Committee.
The association said it is in the process of informing importers, exporters and clearing institutions of the revised transport charges.
