Carson Cumberbatch PLC Group/Bukit Darah PLC’s subsidiary, Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC has disposed of its entire shareholding in Equity Hotels Ltd., to Lavendish Leisure Hotels and Resorts Ltd., for Rs. 243.5 million.
Equity Hotels was a subsidiary of Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC and the buyer isn’t a related party to the Carson Cumberbatch PLC Group/Bukit Darah PLC.
The Group held 2.173 million shares in Equity Hotels. Following the transaction Equity Hotels will no longer be considered as a company within the Carson Cumberbatch PLC Group/Bukit Darah PLC.
Lavendish Leisure is a subsidiary of the Dedigama Group, a market leader in financial services, jewellery, gem and jewel exports, real estate and plantations.
The resorts and hotels in the Lavendish Leisure portfolio includes their luxury resorts: ‘Grand Tamarind Lake,’ ‘Miridiya Lake Resort’ and their boutique villas including ‘Lavendish Wild Safaris,’ and ‘Lavendish Okrin.’ Other new properties in the pipeline which are opening soon are ‘Lavendish Beach Resort,’ ‘Lavendish Winreach Leala’ and their upcoming one-of-a-kind, super luxury resort ‘Lavendish Wild Habarana.
