The President’s Media Division (PMD) said the Cabinet Committee appointed to ensure the systematic functioning of the public service held its first meeting Thursday at the Presidential Secretariat under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
According to the PMD, discussions focused on maintaining the uninterrupted operation of the public service while managing energy resources efficiently, in view of challenges arising from the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The Committee also examined measures to ensure the continued delivery of essential government services without disruption, while addressing operational constraints faced by public sector institutions.
The PMD said attention was given to sustaining service delivery to the public and mitigating difficulties encountered by public sector employees under prevailing conditions.
Those present included Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government A.H.M.M.H. Abayaratne, Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, Secretary to the Prime Minister Pradeep Saputhanthri, Chief of Staff to the President Prabath Chandrakeerthi, and several Ministry Secretaries, including Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Senior Professor Kapila C. Perera and Professor T.M. Udayanga Hemapala, along with other senior officials.
