Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting yesterday granted approval to increase bus fares.
Transport Minister Dilum Amunugama said the minimum fare for CTB and private passenger buses will be increased by Rs. 3 (Rs. 17 to Rs. 20) and other categories by 15% with effect from today.
The increase follows upward revision in fuel prices from last week.
