CBSL Chief to defend new Bill at public lecture

Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe will defend the need for an independent monetary regulatory authority via a new Bill at a public lecture tomorrow. 

CBSL said that the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Bill, will be its governing legislation once it is enacted. It has been presented to Parliament and is in the public domain for comments. 

In this regard, CBSL Governor will deliver a public lecture in Sinhala medium at 2.30 p.m. on 16 March at the Auditorium of Centre for Banking Studies, No. 58, Sri Jayewardenepura Mawatha, Rajagiriya.

CBSL said that following the Governor’s presentation there will be discussion with a panel of resource persons where the audience will be given an opportunity to clarify concerns, if any.

The lecture will also be livestreamed via the official YouTube channel and Facebook page of CBSL.
