BOI inks $ 4.5 m deal with Amber Adventure to unveil first cable car experience in Ambuluwawa

The Board of Investment (BOI) announced that an agreement was signed with Amber Adventure for $ 4.5 million for Sri Lanka’s first cable car experience at Ambuluwawa.

The BOI also said the agreement is in collaboration with the Ambuluwawa Biodiversity Centre. The project will be constructed with technical and product expertise from the China Machine-Building International Corporation.

The total length of the cable car rides is 1.5 kilometers and three stations will provide the exit and entry facilities. The cable car pathway is designed through the biodiversity centre forest range. 

The company will provide total integrated solutions for cable cars including 8 and 6-seat closed, weatherproof, panoramic, window opening style with automatic door opening and closing function facilities. Further, it has a large volume of transportation capacity of about 400 people per hour. 

Ambuluwawa is a biodiversity complex and Sri Lanka’s first multi-religious sanctuary situated in the central highlands of the country.
