BOC’s Rs. 15 b debenture issue draws Rs. 20.4 b demand

The Bank of Ceylon’s (BOC) Rs. 15 billion listed debenture issue has drawn demand worth Rs. 20.4 billion.

BOC said the issue attracted 53 applications requesting for 204.348 million debentures worth Rs. 20.434 billion.

The bank offered an initial issue up to 100 million Basel III compliant, Tier 2, Listed, Rated, Unsecured, Subordinated, Redeemable five-year debentures with a non-viability write down feature, at an issue price of Rs. 100 each, to raise a sum of up to Rs. 10 billion, with an option to issue up to a further 50 million debentures at the discretion of the bank in the event of an oversubscription of the initial issue.
