Assetline Finance’s debut into the listed capital market was a success with its Rs. 5 billion debenture issue oversubscribed and subscription lists closing on opening day.

The company said it had received applications for more than 50 million debentures, the full amount on offer, prompting the issue to close at 4:30 p.m. on the opening day (9). The basis of allotment will be notified to the Colombo Stock Exchange in due course.

The offer comprised an initial tranche of 30 million listed, rated, unsecured, senior, redeemable five-year debentures priced at Rs. 100 each, with the option to issue a further 20 million in the event of oversubscription. The issue carried a preliminary ‘A’ rating with a Positive Outlook from Lanka Rating Agency.

This is Assetline Finance’s first entry into the listed debt capital market, a move the company positioned as part of its funding diversification strategy to strengthen liquidity and support long-term balance-sheet resilience.

Proceeds are to be channelled into expanding lending activities, funding product development, and reinforcing the company’s borrowing profile. The offer featured annual and semi-annual coupon options aimed at delivering competitive returns relative to risk.
