Arkia Israel Airlines resumes weekly flights to Sri Lanka

Arkia Israel Airlines will commence scheduled operations from Tel Aviv to Colombo starting 24 September according to Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel Nimal Bandara.

Israeli Arkia Airlines flight IZ 639 will depart from Tel Aviv Airport to Colombo every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., starting today. It is scheduled to arrive at Colombo Katunayake Airport at 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday.

Due to the ban on Israeli aircraft over Oman and the Maldives, the flight will operate via Seychelles, taking approximately 9 hours and 15 minutes to reach Colombo.

Flight IZ 640 will depart from Colombo at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday and is scheduled to arrive in Tel Aviv at 5:35 a.m. on Thursday.

This flight, primarily targeting Israeli tourists, will be operated once a week. During the first eight months of this year, 15,407 Israeli tourists have visited Sri Lanka.
