One of Sri Lanka’s truly exceptional beach hotel experiences, Angel Beach, Unawatuna, has been recognised and included amongst the Small Luxury Hotels of the World; the most desirable community of independently minded travellers and independently spirited hotels in the world.

This places Angel Beach among a select number of 520 hotels across 90 countries, and makes it only the 2nd hotel in Sri Lanka to receive a seal of approval from Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH).

Commenting on the inclusion of Angel Beach among the Small Luxury Hotels of the World,

SLH Senior Vice President Asia Pacific Mark Wong said: “It is time to return to Sri Lanka and we are delighted to welcome our second member in this friendly island country. From historic colonial sites, meditative temples and rivers teeming with wildlife; Galle has it all.

“The city’s clean beaches and great diving spots are a big pull for leisure travellers; and Angel Beach Resort combines the natural golden sand beach setting and a world-class club concept to a new level of luxury in Unawatuna. This fun-loving retreat offers guests wanting a laid-back escape to enjoy sun, sand and beach during the day; as well as a hip energetic party when their Beach Club comes alive at night. We are confident it will appeal to international travellers looking for a heavenly place to recharge – or let their halo slip.”

Discussing the significance of joining the ranks of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, and commenting about the revival of tourism in Sri Lanka, Angel Beach Founder and Chairman Eshana De Silva said: “We are delighted and honoured to be accepted into the family of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, which puts us amongst some of the best hotel experiences in the world, and places great expectations on us, which I’m confident we can always deliver on. Sri Lanka’s tourism industry is no stranger to tremendous challenges, and each time we have made a comeback, stronger and better than before.

“This is due to the unique proposition Sri Lanka has to offer and the sheer resilience of its stakeholders. It is imperative that we campaign towards the revival of tourism as it’s one of the highest foreign exchange earners for the country; it is also an industry that can give immediate results in terms of supporting our foreign exchange position. Therefore, we take this opportunity to thank SLH for this recognition, our loyal guests for their support and patronage, and our team for their consistency and perseverance.”

Angel Beach, Unawatuna is an eclectic and unique luxury hotel experience in the southern coastal hotspot of Galle in Sri Lanka. The atmosphere, vibe and ambience of Angel Beach is incredibly unique and cannot be found anywhere else. This has led it to become one of the most sought-after and iconic Sri Lankan beach experiences with jazzy tunes, tropical vibes, refreshing signature cocktails, plush daybeds and a very inspiring pool.

The Hotel’s distinctive art and décor style have created many iconic photo opportunities too, and made Angel Beach a tourist attraction in and of itself, in addition to being one of the most coveted Sri Lankan beach hotel experiences.
