All schools closed for a week

The Government yesterday decided to close all schools for a week starting today.

The move was based on advice by health authorities following the spike in COVID-19 cases in the country since late last week.

From 2,076 cumulative positive cases by last Sunday, the number has risen to 2,612 following the discovery of hundreds of infected patients at the Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre and several who had made contact with counsellors as well imported cases.
