All banks, stock market will remain open today

The public holiday declared today will not be applicable for State and private banks, the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration said.

Accordingly, all State and private banks in the country will remain open tomorrow, the Central Bank said.

The Colombo Stock Exchange also announced it will be open for trading today.

Today was declared a public holiday by the Government in view of the upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year Festival.
