The Board of Airline Representatives (BAR) Sri Lanka yesterday took up rising operating costs, ground handling procedures, and airport infrastructure at its fourth Executive Board meeting in Colombo.
The session, held at the SriLankan Airlines Boardroom, was chaired by BAR Chairman Dimuthu Tennakoon, along with Vice Chairman Sudesh Rupasinghe and country heads of major airlines serving Sri Lanka.
The representatives discussed ways to simplify ground handling processes, contain growing operational expenses, and improve facilities at the country’s main aviation gateways.
The Executive Committee also reviewed strategies to raise operational efficiency and to press for aviation policies that support the industry.
BAR Sri Lanka reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable growth in the sector, better passenger experiences, and support for the country’s tourism and trade industries.
