President Anura Kumara Disanayake has appointed Dr. Muditha Darshana Senarath Yapa as the new Chief Innovation Officer of the National Innovation Agency. The official letter of appointment was handed over to Dr. Yapa yesterday, at the Presidential Secretariat by Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.
Dr. Yapa is a seasoned New Technology Development Consultant. He served as the Vice President at John Keells Holdings and Head of John Keells Research between December 2012 and October 2022 during which time he started a new division on science and technology, targeting patents. His past experience include Senior Research Scientist and Business Development Manager at SLINTEC, visiting lecturer at University of Peradeniya, and Assistant Scientist at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US.
