10 vie for hangman post

The Prisons Department said yesterday that it had received 10 applications in response to an advertisement calling for suitable candidates to fill the two vacant posts for hangmen.

The Assistant Commissioner said the vacancies were advertised a month ago, following Justice Ministry approval.

He said that the two vacancies would be filled by the beginning of November and the successful candidates would be given two weeks of training prior to them assuming duties.
