10 socially responsible corporates have come forward to empower State university students with the latest knowledge on cybersecurity threats and solutions at the full-day 11th Annual Cyber Security Summit, organised by the Daily FT-CICRA, held today at the Cinnamon Grand Oak Room.
Over 100 undergraduate students from the Universities of Ruhuna, Jaffna, Uva Wellassa, Kelaniya, Moratuwa, Rajarata, Sri Jayewardenepura, Peradeniya, and Eastern will be attending today’s Cyber Security Summit featuring global and local experts.
The companies which responded to the call to support university students’ participation at the Summit are AIA Sri Lanka, Aitken Spence and Company PLC, Carson Cumberbatch PLC, Ceylinco Life, Digital Mobility Solutions Lanka PLC, DIMO PLC, Hirdaramani Apparel Ltd., John Keells Holdings PLC, LOLC Holdings PLC, and Sunshine Holdings PLC.
Their support is following universities expressing interest in their students participating and being empowered by new insights to be shared by experts at the Summit, which will be followed by a unique ‘Night Hack’ demonstrating practical incidents of cybersecurity threats.
Keynote speakers who will be featured today include Meta South Asia and Central Asia Director – Public Policy Sarim Aziz, Visa Consulting and Analytics Asia Pacific Risk Practice Lead Sen Dibyajyoti, Sysco LABS Cybersecurity Director and Business Information Security Officer - APAC Shanthi Rajesh, and Secgra Cloud Security Innovator/Director Paul Hidalgo will be the keynote speakers, while Guest Speakers include Rajah & Tann Cybersecurity Chief Executive Officer Wong Onn Chee, Brandix Director Oshada Senanayake, Brandix-Fortude IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity General Manager Prageeth Kapuruge, and South Asian Technologies Chief Technical Strategy Officer Shabeer Shiyam.
