Sri Lankan food and beverages promoted at FHA exhibition in Singapore

Six Sri Lankan companies from the food and processed beverage sector are participating in the FHA (Food and Hotel Asia) Food & Beverage Exhibition, at Expo Singapore from 23-26 April. 

Spices, confectionery items, vegetarian and healthy foods, black and green tea are among the Sri Lankan products that are being promoted at the exhibition.

The opening ceremony of the event took place at the Singapore Expo on 23 April and Singapore’s Minister of State for Trade and Industry Low Yen Ling graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Singapore Senarath Dissanayake, Head of Chancery Ahmed Razee, and Minister (Commercial) Yasantha Yaddehi also graced the opening ceremony of the FHA exhibition and visited all Sri Lankan booths and appreciated their participation at the exhibition at their own cost.

Basilur Tea Exports Ltd., Ceylon Biscuit Ltd., Meezan and Company Ltd., Stassen Exports Ltd., Planto Ceylon Ltd., and Valiant Holdings Ltd., from the processed food and beverage sector of Sri Lanka participated in this year’s exhibition.

The FHA exhibition is the largest food and beverage exhibition in Singapore, and it is poised to become the ultimate one-stop platform for Asia’s F&B professionals and industry leaders, offering an impressive array of 12 dynamic segments such as convenience food, fine food, drinks, fresh produce, sea food, snacks, confectionary, etc. 1,500 exhibitors from more than 50 countries are exhibiting their products at the exhibition this year, and the organisers are expecting 60,000 visitors from all over the world during the four-day event.

The High Commission facilitated the Sri Lankan companies by inviting all potential importers to visit Sri Lankan booths and some business to business (B2B) meetings are being arranged with potential importers at the booths.
