SLICCA students with Patron of Chef Guild Galle Chef Nihal and Chef Sujith
The Sri Lanka Institute of Confectionery and Culinary Arts (SLICCA) has secured 17 prestigious medals at the National Level Chef Guild Competition, held on 12 and 13 November 2025 in Galle. The grand event, graced by the Mayor of Galle as the Chief Guest, brought together top culinary talents from across the nation, making it one of the most competitive platforms for chefs and confectionery professionals. The Southern Regional Competition is known for its intense standards and high level of competition, especially with the tourism and hospitality industry dominating the coastal region. Despite competing against renowned five star hotels and established culinary institutions, SLICCA showcased outstanding creativity, skill, and professionalism, earning remarkable national recognition.
Founder and CEO Dr. Fathima Rushda extended her heartfelt congratulations to all participants, applauding their hard work and dedication. She emphasised that this achievement marks another significant milestone in SLICCAʼs journey toward excellence in the confectionery and culinary arts industry. Dr. Rushda further said, “Our students continue to raise the bar of culinary excellence in Sri Lanka.
