From beans to brilliance: Colombo Coffee Company wins “Overall Silver” at CPM Best Management Practices Company Awards 2025

Colombo Coffee Company, Sri Lanka’s largest and the most awarded coffee solutions provider, made history at the Best Management Practices Company Awards 2025, organised by the Chartered Professional Managers (CPM) Sri Lanka, by securing the Overall Silver Award – a remarkable victory over 126 other corporate giants.

The company was also recognised with Excellence Award in Best Management Practices, Sector winner in Manufacturing – Food and Beverage and Merit Award in the ESG Cluster.

Adding to this success, Colombo Coffee Company General Manager Kushan Samararatne was honoured with the Excellence in Leadership Award, recognising his transformative leadership.

Established over two decades ago, Colombo Coffee Company revolutionised Sri Lanka’s coffee landscape by introducing Lavazza, the world’s leading commercial coffee brand, along with cutting-edge machines from La Cimbali, Gaggia, Nuova Simonelli and many other reputed brands. To ensure world-class standards, the company also pioneered a training division to develop local talent and a technical services division for after-sales support.

Beyond business, Colombo Coffee Company is committed to sustainability and ethical sourcing, working closely with farmers and processors to promote fair trade and elevate Sri Lankan coffee.

With expertise in strategic management, operational excellence, and Lean methodologies, Kushan Samararatne plays a pivotal role in Colombo Coffee Company’s success. He also serves as the Chairperson of the Lanka Coffee Association, VP – Membership at Innovative Minds Toastmasters and a Lecturer in Management and Leadership. Holding a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the University of Peradeniya and an MBA from the University of Wales, he continues to drive innovation and industry leadership.
