AIA Sri Lanka wins big at the prestigious FITIS Digital Excellence Awards Ceremony 2021. FITIS is the apex body for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Sri Lanka which covers all major industry segments. AIA was recognized among some of the big names in the Telecommunication, Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Manufacturing and IT sectors. AIA’s Chief Technology Officer, Umeshi De Fonseka said “It was an honour to also be the only insurance company to win multiple awards at the FITIS awards ceremony.”

AIA Sri Lanka secured the most esteemed GOLD AWARD of the night, in the Corporate IT Awards category. This award is testament to the strategic investments AIA has made on the digital transformation journey under its multi-year Technology, Digital, Analytics (TDA) strategy which includes cloud adoption at scale, big data infrastructure and analytics, customer experience, cyber security and governance, system availability and clarity in future direction. The best practices adapted along their transformation journey was to ensure an efficient and smooth experience for customers and employees.

AIA was also awarded the merit award in the Customer Centric Process Automation category for its digital operational excellence. The company has digitized the entire customer journey from the point of solicitation to policy issuance and automated most of the purchase journey making customer convenience the focus of their efforts. Sharing his thoughts Nikhil Advani said, “each award was a well-deserved tribute to the hard work of the dedicated teams that assisted in the digital transformation across the company. These strategic IT initiatives help our customer experience tremendously by providing a world-class digital experience, as well as increasing the efficiency of the business by improving the speed and unit costs of servicing our customers. Winning the main award of the night at the FITIS awards ceremony was a fantastic milestone for us and validates our commitment to leveraging new technology to drive better business outcomes for AIA Sri Lanka.”
