Two new Executive Directors on Entrust Securities Board

The Board of Directors of Entrust Securities Plc at its meeting held last week appointed Isira Dharmapriya Bandara Dassanayake and Chanuka Ratwatte as Executive Directors of the company with effect from 23 November 2012.

Dasanayake counts over 15 years of experience in the private and public sectors. He holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration. Currently he serves the Boards of Entrust Ltd., Entrust Investments Ltd., Entrust Healthcare Ltd., Maruthi Estates Ltd., Continental Capital (Pvt) Ltd., Nippon Holdings (Pvt) Ltd., Platinum Capital (Pvt) Ltd., and Pacific Trust (Pvt) Ltd., in the capacity of Group Chairman.

Ratwatte started his career in 1993 as a Trainee Planter in Kahawatte Plantations Ltd., and later joined Tata Tea, India, as a Management Trainee.

With his wide exposure and experience in the tea industry, he joined Watawala Plantations Ltd. in 1997 as Head of Exports and offered his services for four years. He is also a qualified planter with certification from India, UK, and Germany.

Having worked in the plantation sector in India and Sri Lanka, Ratwatte joined Brave Guard Security and Investigation Services as a Director in 2003. It is a Sri Lankan company established in 1999, which offers a wide range of security and manpower related services tailored exclusively to the requirements of its vast clientele. At present he is also a Director of Unique Hauliers (Pvt) Ltd., a company involved in freight forwarding activities.

He obtained his primary and secondary education at Trinity College – Kandy during the period 1978 tp 1992. Ratwatte serves on the Boards of Entrust Ltd., Entrust Investments Ltd., and Entrust Healthcare Ltd., in the capacity of the Group Managing Director. Following the new additions, the Board of Directors of Entrust Securities Plc comprises Nihal Rangala (Chairman/Independent Non Executive Director), A.H.M. Riyaz (Group Executive Director/CEO), I.D.B. Dassanayake (Executive Director), C.U. Ratwatte (Executive Director), L. Wickremesooriya (Director – Finance), R. Senerath (Director – Operations), N.N.P. Jayasuriya (Independent Non-Executive Director), K. Nanayakkara (Independent Non-Executive Director), and H. De Silva (Independent Non-Executive Director).
