Sunil Karunanayake new Chairman at Alliance Finance

Top professional and Independent Non Executive Director Sunil Karunanayake has been appointed as the Chairman of Alliance Finance Company Plc.

This is following the retirement of Kissara Sonali Kirtha de Silva from the Board with effect from 31 May 2013 after serving the maximum permitted tenure of nine years as a Non Executive Director on the Board as required by Central Bank directions.

Karunanayake joined the Alliance Finance Board in January 2012 as an Independent Non Executive Director and is also the Chairman of the Audit Committee.

He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Charted Accountants (FCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA) and also holds a MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management at the University of Sri Jayawardenapura.

He counts over 30 years of experience in a leading multinational company.

Karunanayake also serves as a Non Executive Director on the Board of the Ceylon Grain Elevators Plc, Orient Garments Plc, Three Acre Farms Plc and also functions as the Chairman of the Audit Committee at the said listed Companies.

Following the changes, the Board of Directors of Alliance Finance Company Plc comprises Sunil Karunanayake (Chairman), Romani de Silva (Deputy Chairman and Managing Director), D.L.S.R. Perera (Finance Director), A.R. Samarasinghe (Non Executive Director) and R.N. Ponnambalam (Non Executive Director).
