Shibani appointed to DFCC Bank Board

Shibani Thambiayah has been appointed to the Board of DFCC Bank Plc, with effect from 2 March 2015 subject to Central Bank approval. Daughter of senior business leader Ravi Thambiayah, she has no direct relevant interest in shares of DFCC Bank Plc but several companies in which

she is a Director have stakes including Renuka Hotels Ltd., (four million shares), Renuka Consultant and Services Ltd., (1 million shares) Renuka Properties Ltd., Lancaster Holdings Ltd. and Portfolio Management Services Ltd. Shibani is a BA (Honours) graduate in Economics from the University of Nottingham UK and holds a Master of Management degree in Hospitality from the Cornell University of Hotel Administration in USA. She holds the position of Joint Managing Director of Renuka Hotels Ltd. and Renuka City Hotels Plc of which she was the General Manager from 2001 to 2010 prior to assuming the current position with the company. She is also a director of Cargo Boat Development Co Plc, Crescent Launderers and Dry Cleaners Ltd., Renuka Consultants and Services Ltd., Renuka Properties Ltd., Lancaster Holdings Ltd., Portfolio Management Services Ltd. and Renuka Land Ltd. She was also a director of DFCC Vardhana Bank Plc from September 2012 to February 2015.
