President opens People’s Bank and People’s Leasing and Finance Wilgamuwa branch new building

The new building of Wilgamuwa People’s Bank and People’s Leasing and Finance PLC branch was recently opened by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The branch is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and offers special services to the residents of Wilgamuwa area. In addition to the regular banking activities, the branch offers loans, pawning facilities and safety lockers as well as day and night PET services.

During the ceremony, 10 of the longest standing premier customers were awarded for their contributions by the President. Parallel to the new branch opening, under the Divi Neguma program 1,100 residents of 39 Grama Sewa areas were handed over with savings account pass books and loans. Denoting this occasion, a selected number of customers were awarded with savings account pass books and loans.

Jayakody, People’s Bank Chief Executive Officer/General Manager N. Vasantha Kumar, People’s Leasing and Finance Chief Executive Officer/General Manager D.P. Kumarage, Head of Marketing and Public Affairs Deepal Abeysekera, Deputy General Manager (Operations) Boniface Silva, Deputy General Manager (Banking Support Services) B.M. Premanath, Zonal Assistant General Manager R.M.S.B. Ratnayake, Regional Manager (Matale) K.D.J. Perera and Wilgamuwa Branch Manager D.M.R.P Dissanayake were present at the event along with bank employees, Government officials and customers.
