President declares open People’s Bank Trincomalee Regional Head Office

Under the auspices of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, People’s Bank recently ceremoniously declared open its new state-of-the-art building complex with superior banking services for the people of Trincomalee. The new four-storey complex consists of the People’s Bank Regional Head Office, the Second City Branch and Small & Medium Scale Business Centre.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa ceremonially opening the Trincomalee Regional Office by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the ceremonial plaque Designed to foster efficient and professional banking services, the building is fully equipped with a spacious auditorium with all modern facilities to host meetings and other events. In addition, the bank’s second city branch which is located on the first floor provides citizens of Trincomalee with superior banking needs including, loan facilities, pawn broking services and safety deposit lockers. Customers also have access to a 24-hour ATM. The occasion was attended by the Governor of the Eastern Province Mohan Wijewickrama, Chief Minister of the Eastern Province Najib Abdul Majid, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Susantha Punchinilame, Deputy Minister of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs M.K.A.D.S. Gunawardene and Minister of Parliament M.S. Taufeeq. Chairman of Eastern Provincial Council W.G.S. Ariyawathi Galappathithi, Government officials of the region and officers from security forces were also present at the opening. People’s Bank Chairman Gamini S. Senarath, Chief Executive Officer/General Manager N. Vasantha Kumar, Chief executive Officer/General Manager of People’s Leasing & Finance PLC D.P. Kumarage, People’s Bank Head of Marketing and Public Affairs Deepal Abeysekara, Deputy General Manager (Commercial Credit and SME) K.B. Rajapakse, Deputy General Manager (Branch Operations) Boniface Silva, Deputy General Manager (Banking Support Services) Mahinda Premanath, President of Ceylon Bank Employees Union and Assistant General Manager (Operations) A.K. Bandara, Assistant General Manager (SME) Wickrama Narayana, Central Bank of SL Provincial Manager, Trincomalee D.D.A. Dharmakeerthi, People’s Bank Trincomalee Regional Manager O.K.D.R. Wasantha, Trincomalee Second City Branch Manageress Dilani Xavier and Small and Medium Scale Business Centre M. Premakumara together with branch staff and customers were also present at the opening.
