Prabhu appointed to Capital Alliance Finance Board

Top professional Prabaharan (Prabhu) S. Mathavan has been appointed to the Board of Capital Alliance Finance Plc as an Independent Non Executive Director. The appointment approved by the Central Bank follows the resignation of Harris Premaratne from the Board with effect from 16 February.

Mathavan is the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Cargills Bank Ltd. In October last year Cargills Bank acquired a 76.5% stake in Capital Alliance Finance Plc, and the latter is pending amalgamation with the former via a share swap. Thereafter Capital Alliance Finance will cease to exist and would be de-listed from the Colombo Stock Exchange. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. He also holds a Bachelors Degree in Commerce. Mathavan counts over 19 years of experience in the fields of finance, auditing, accounting and taxation. With the latest changes, the Board of Directors of Capital Alliance Finance Plc comprises Ajith Fernando (Independent/Non-Executive Chairman), E.R.G.C.G. Hemachandra, P.D. Rodrigo, E.M.M. Boyagoda and P.S. Mathavan.
