People’s Leasing to pay final dividend of Rs. 0.50 per share

People’s Leasing Company PLC and its subsidiary, People’s Finance PLC held their Annual General Meetings (AGMs) at People’s Bank Staff Training College Auditorium, Colombo 10 on the 29th June 2012 at 10 am and 11 am respectively.

The sixteenth (16th) Annual General Meeting holds an overriding significance for People’s Leasing Company PLC as it is their first AGM of the Company after being listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange on the 24th of November 2011. The hosted AGM numbers the twelfth for People’s Finance PLC and fourth after coming under the umbrella of People’s Leasing PLC.

Annual General Meeting of People’s Leasing Company PLC was conducted by the Board of Directors comprising of Mr. W. Karunajeewa (Chairman), Dr. D. J. D. Jayakody (Non-Independent, Non Executive Director), Mr. N. V. Kumar (Non-Independent, Non Executive Director), Mr. W.S.S. Bandara (Non-Independent, Non Executive Director), Mr. P. A. I. S. Perera (Independent, Non Executive Director), Ms. M. G. Jinadasa (Independent, Non Executive Director), Mr. R. Pathirage (Secretary). The Senior Management of the Company and its external auditors also marked their presence.

This occasion was graced by the number of shareholders present.

All resolutions of both Companies were unanimously agreed by the shareholders in attendance. The proposed Rs 0.50 final dividend per share of People’s Leasing Company PLC was also approved as same.
