MCSL Financial Services celebrates 29th anniversary

MCSL Financial Services Ltd. (MCSL) celebrated its 29th anniversary with multi religious functions held on 29 November 2012 and an awards ceremony to give tokens of appreciations to loyal customers and longstanding employees who have completed 15 and 20 years in the company respectively.

MCSL is ISO 9001-2008 certified “BBB” rated licensed finance company owned by premier financial institutions, Commercial Bank, Bank of Ceylon and Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka, with a network of 13 customer centers spread across the Island.

MCSL commenced business operations in 1983 as Colombo Credit Ltd. and subsequently renamed as Merchant Credit of Sri Lanka Ltd., after being taken over by Bank of Ceylon and Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka.

In 2004 MCSL was initially certified as a ISO 9001-2000 company by SGS Lanka Ltd., being only the second finance company to achieve such certification and subsequently received the certification in ISO 9001-2008 in 2010.

MCSL is aggressively expanding its customer base with future plans to embark on Islamic finance and micro finance and opening pawning outlets to increase its customer reach.
