The Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka’s Rs. 1 billion listed debenture issue has been oversubscribed and closed on its official opening day itself yesterday. The issue was for five million unsecured redeemable debentures of Rs. 100 each with an option to offer an equal amount in the event of an oversubscription. This was MBSL’s second listed debenture in the year. The first in early 2013 successfully raised Rs. 2 billion.
