The event, which featured KPMG as its Knowledge Partner, gave away 17 awards under seven categories.
Under the category Islamic Finance (IF) Entity of the Year, Amana Takaful was presented with the Gold award, while the Al Falah Islamic Banking Unit of Lanka Orix Finance took the Silver and Al Safa Islamic Banking Unit of People’s Leasing and Finance bagged the Bronze award.
For Emerging IF Entity of the Year, the Gold award was presented to Al Najah Islamic Banking Unit of Hatton National Bank, and the Silver to Rahma, Islamic Microfinance Unit of Commercial Credit and Finance.
Under the Social Upliftment category, the Gold award was given to Muslim Aid Sri Lanka and Rahma Islamic Microfinance Unit of Commercial Credit and Finance. The Merit award under this category was presented to Al Falah Islamic Banking Unit of Lanka Orix Finance, Amana Bank and Ideas Consultancy.
For the IF Technology Provider of the Year, Lanka Orix Information Technology Services walked away with the Gold Award and Scienter Technologies took the Silver.
Under the Deal/Product of the Year category, Amana Takaful won the Gold for the product Kruthaguna. The Silver award was shared by Amana Bank for the deal with Fits Aviation, and Al Falah Islamic Banking Unit of Lanka Orix Finance for its ladies unit.
The Rising Personality of the Year was Salmaan Nasir Mauroof of HNB Al Najah and Mohamed Hikam Hussain of People’s Leasing and Finance – Al Safa was presented the Silver award.
The final award for the night, the Honorary Award for Contribution to the IF Industry, was presented to Founder Partner of Nithya Partners Naomal Goonewardena.
