Janashakthi Insurance General team emerged as the first runner up at the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute, inaugural quiz competition held on 14 May. The Sri Lanka Insurance Institute the premier professional body handling all examinations and courses related to insurance conducted its inaugural quiz competition mainly to promote fellowship in order to build a strong insurance community. 25 teams participated in the competition representing all the renowned insurance companies in the island.

Janashakthi Insurance was represented by two teams, the Janashakthi General team who emerged as runner up with a close gap between the wining team while the Janashakthi Life team was placed ninth position.

“We are extremely proud to have received this recognition. The team behind the success worked very hard to achieve this win for Janashakthi. We are very grateful to our trainer Udara Dharmawimala, who was the key driver that led our team towards this success,” said Chief Operating Officer – General Insurance Dayalanie Abeygunawardena.

Those participating in this friendly competition had to answer questions based on insurance, as well as on a range of other topics including history, geography, current affairs, IQ, logic, literature, sports and entertainment.

“The team was enthusiastic to face the challenge that was given to them. They worked on the areas that they were passionate about and led the team to success. The senior management also provided continued support and guidance to those who participated,” said Manager – Technical Department Udara Dharmawimala, trainer of the winning team.
