HSBC Sri Lanka wins Best Credit Card Initiative of the Year award

HSBC Sri Lanka was presented with the prestigious Credit Card Initiative of the Year award by Asian Banking and Finance 2012 for the launch of its Visa Signature credit card in Sri Lanka, at a special awards ceremony held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore on 23 August 2012.  

For several years, Asian Banking and Finance Magazine (ABF) have been recognising the best performers of various banking and finance institutions around Asia.  



This year, ABF has once again paid tribute to key players of the banking and finance industry for their excellent projects and products tailored to retail customers.

Accepting the award on behalf of Retail Banking and Wealth Management HSBC Sri Lanka, Head of Cards and Consumer Assets in Sri Lanka Nadeesha Senaratne said, “This is a true testimony of the product with almost 10,000 cardholders and 85% market share in just six months to command the dominant market leadership on the travel segment in the country. Asian Banking and Finance have now further endorsed our efforts as the best credit card initiative in Sri Lanka.

We thank all our partner airlines, travel agents and other strategic partners in making HSBC Visa Signature the best value proposition in the country.” The winning entry for HSBC Sri Lanka was the launch of HSBC Visa Signature, a card that gives a strong value proposition on travel and life style with free companion tickets, up to five times air miles on airline tickets with partner airlines, priority pass access to over 600 airport lounges and savings on golfing green fees and flexible air mile redemptions with multiple airlines international lodging.

Further to the award that was specific to Sri Lanka, Nadeesha accepted the following awards on behalf of HSBC Asia Pacific: Online Banking Initiative of the Year – Hong Kong, Advertising Campaign of the Year – Hong Kong (Gold Award) and Employer Award of the Year – Hong Kong (Silver Award).
